“I had always wanted to cook. Make all the jokes you want but Princess and the Frog was a beautiful, inspirational movie. Sure, I was enamored with her making it work even as a frog. Of course, when she still didn’t get the point even after Mama Odie’s song I felt targeted. However, my favorite part was when she burst through the backdoor and yells, “Hey everybody, I made gumbo!” Little ole her. So proud of her creation and eager to share it, being met with such support from your community was what she grew up on. I knew that was the goal all along. It quickly went from gumbo to a full course meal with sides. In every way, that’s how I like to live my life and inspire others to do so. Everyone thinks out of fear first, which makes it hard to convince them that your housewarming gift isn’t poisoned.
I love sharing. In my mind there shouldn’t be a moment anyone is without. Few learn not to share for fear of running out. Even more have never heard of infinite supply. My question was what are people like when they have everything they need. Think of your basic necessities. What you need is as easily accessible as knocking on your neighbors door. Why not start small? Community by community, neighborhood by neighborhood ALL ON ONE ACCORD. Most importantly, how would I teach them to give it to themselves all the time. Food. Food? Food.
I’ve always liked combining unconventional tastes together. If you’ve had a plate of mine, I tend to whip up some really cool concepts. Such is life, you know? Everything you love about living a giant collaboration of unconventional approaches. Each addition an improvement. Just like a dish. A plethora of ingredients working together to create a masterpiece. Even when it’s wonky we try again, right? So I thought, considering everyone is starving for something why not provide food for you to eat AND show you how to cook for yourself?
Not just food for the body though. How often you forget to eat is just as often as you forget to pour into yourself. You want so much more than the life around you. Everyday waking up brimming with desires. It’s often overwhelming in such an oppressive society. At the core of it is your desire to create. Create an ideal environment, curating your mental state, or even creating something that hits the palate just right. Whatever you feel, whenever you feel it. I want you to do it.
That’s why I’ve made this actually. I’m going to do my part in uniting consciousness. Showing everyone just how important each ingredient is. It’s small now, but if only you could see the visions of this place. I invite you to express and enjoy expression. Feel at peace in our similarities and stimulated in our differences. Make and share great food.”
